One of the Museum’s strategic imperatives for 2011 is “taking Mr Mandela to the nation” by mounting traveling exhibitions at venues across the country. It was particularly fitting that one such exhibition took pride of place alongside the Mandela Lounge at the 24th ANC Youth League Elective Conference at Gallagher’s Estate, in June 2011.
Mr Mandela, the father of the nation, was a founder of the Youth League. His presence at the conference, albeit in exhibition form, was enthusiastically received by conference delegates.
To round off the celebrations, the Museum is in talks with iconic South African musicians, Ladysmith Black Mambazo. Watch this space!
