Mandela & Luthuli in Conversation

Mandela & Luthuli In Conversation Exhibition(BHUNGA BUILDING, MTHATHA)

luthuli

Mandela and Luthuli in Conversation is a thought-provoking exhibition that encourages debate. It is suitable for youth and adult audiences, and is a fulfilling, refreshing and recommitting experience inspired by the two Nobel Peace winners and other leaders.

A collaboration between the Nelson Mandela Museum and the Chief Luthuli Museum in Stanger, the Nelson Mandela and Luthuli in Conversation exhibition celebrates the legacy of these two South African struggle legends and Nobel Prize Laureates.

The exhibition, which is a semi-permanent installation, comprises more than just a collection of pictures. It is a compilation of personal exchanges between the two leaders, featuring broader conversations on their observations. It also includes their associate’s own observations on various issues. Using quotations from writings, photographs, audio material and film footage, the exhibition gives voice to these conversations.

Visitors to the Nelson Mandela Museum, in the Bhunga Building in Mthatha, will hear the echoes of Nelson Mandela’s and Chief Luthuli’s personal and public interactions through conversations and debates, many of which are still relevant today.

Additionally, material from various well known and lesser-known private and public archives and collections is used to presented their life stories.
