Conservation & Heritage Resources Management
The Nelson Mandela Museum is home to diverse collections such as paintings, ceramics, fabric, paper and sites, all requiring different methods of conservation and different skills.
That is why it is important that conservation in the Museum should be aimed at reducing factors that could result in the deterioration of the collection.
The Bhunga building, where our material objects are mainly housed, is situated in a historic building that needs technical equipment to control the environment to prevent the deterioration of the objects.
