This is an annual programme that is hosted by the Nelson Mandela Museum during the school winter break. It targets learners in Grade 10 and 11 from high schools across the nine provinces of South Africa. The participants are hosted for a week by the Nelson Mandela Museum being taught on various academic skills such as research, robotics and coding as well as to how to write stories and do documentaries. What is of significance is that they are exposed to the values of ethical leadership with integrity and accountability as espoused by the values of Nelson Mandela. They are taught to be active agents of change instead of being passive as the solutions to the challenges confronting our society will come from them. The participants are also taken on a tour on the footprints of Nelson Mandela such as Mvezo where he was born, Qunu where he grew up and started school as well as Mqhekezweni Great Place where he spent the better part of his young life where he also learnt about the democratic values of African leadership.
